Dr. William Shin
DDS, MS — Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. William Shin is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has been practicing dentistry since 2013 and serving patients in the greater Atlanta area since 2017. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Master of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2013 and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and certificate at New York Medical College in 2017.
Dr. Shin believes exceptional surgical care extends well beyond technical skill. His goal is to provide personalized and compassionate care while making sure every patient feels heard, informed, and comfortable throughout the treatment process. He encourages patients to ask questions and takes the time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations clearly.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the national certifying board for the specialty, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He continues his education throughout the year and has completed more than 500 hours of continuing education after dental school.
Over the course of his career, he has completed thousands of tooth extractions and wisdom tooth extractions, placed thousands of dental implants, and provided sedation for thousands of surgical cases. He has nearly 14 years of experience with oral surgery, dental implant placement, extractions, and sedation dentistry.
Outside of patient care, Dr. Shin enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His interests include fitness, cooking, and traveling.
