Are you missing one or more teeth in one section of your smile? If so, it’s time to consider your tooth-replacement options. One beneficial option is to replace your missing teeth with a dental bridge. A dental bridge in Alpharetta, Georgia, is a replacement tooth, or multiple replacement teeth, fused to a dental crown on each end. With the right techniques, it will anchor onto the neighboring teeth and complete your smile.

A dental bridge can help your smile in a myriad of ways. In fact, it can:

-Reserve your facial features

-Repair your smile and replace your missing teeth

-Add strength and force to your bite

-Give you the ability to chew and talk properly

-Keep the surrounding natural teeth from wandering out of position

Fortunately, the process of installing a dental bridge is simple and easy. However, the installation might require two visits to our office, depending on the equipment we have available. During your first appointment, Dr. Pallavi Rakesh will formulate the neighboring two teeth by trimming the outer layers, which are called the enamel layers. This will make enough room to place the dental bridge over the teeth. Dr. Pallavi Rakesh will then make impressions of the abutments (the shaved teeth) and the corresponding teeth in your bite and will send those impressions to a professional dental lab. While you wait for your bridge to be made, your dentist will help you have a functional mouth by placing temporary crowns over the abutments.

During your second appointment, Dr. Pallavi Rakesh will remove your temporary crowns and will assess the fit and function of your new bridge. If the bridge fits perfectly in your mouth and does a proper job at performing daily tasks, your dentist will cement it into place.
